Bangkok Holiday Trip (June 2017) - Day 3 of 6

***The following is the account of the first-person-view from Edwin Ang.***

Woke up at 8am and went to breakfast early. Spammed the breakfast again cos it's complimentary!!! Today there wasn't much confusion in where to go, cos we legit just left the hotel straight after breakfast.

We left at 10am and went straight to the BTS station of Ratchaprarop to take the train to Rose Garden. I don't even know why we going to Rose Garden or what Rose Garden is, but we just had to go somewhere. After a little research, Rose Garden is a place allegedly famous for their elephants.

We took the train one station to the end and changed to another line. Total train ride costed me 30 baht, 15 baht for each line. When we alighted we saw this bubble tea stall and we each bought a drink. My milk tea costed 40 baht. It was a great drink but too much ice.

That's the railway tracks we walked on yesterday.
Then we went to hunt for the bus that will take us there. Rose Garden is allegedly an hour out of Bangkok. But we couldn't find that one bus so we gave up and flagged a taxi. The taxi driver took us to this Elephant Zoo just 20km away from Rose Garden first. That ride costed us 400 baht.

So we alighted and went into the zoo. Entrance fee was 600 baht. It was 2pm at that point in time. We caught the show in time. Yutong was so happy when we finally get to see some elephants. She even went to buy some bananas for 20 baht to feed the elephants.

To me, the elephant show was lit, but cruel. They were using hooks to control the elephants. Sigh. We then went over to the next attraction and there was this crocodile show. Nothing much to see except a few highly trained retards challenging the crocodiles.

Then the girls went to ride on an elephant while me and John went to feed some fishes with the 20 baht fish food. We decided that the fishes had enough to eat so we fed the fish food to all other animals in the zoo. The monkeys had a share, the peacock had a share, the rabbits had a share, even the crocodiles had a share. It was really yolo moment for us.

Then we left the zoo at 4pm and the taxi driver was waiting for us?!?!? Such perseverance. We had no choice but to ride his taxi back. We scrapped the idea of visiting the Rose Garden. It was 550 baht this time because it was heavy traffic. We alighted right at the Chatuchak market. We did not realise that market was about to close soon.

We settled our dinner at this mall called JJ shopping mall first. I ate Pad Thai which costed me 99 baht. Then we walked over and most of the inner shops are already closed. Thankfully, the main street shops are still as lively as ever. I bought a new passport cover for 66 baht there. It was so worth it. Yutong bought 6, so it was more worth it for her.

We then flagged a Tuk Tuk and headed back to our hotel. Ride was 260 baht.  We put down our stuff in the hotel first and left for the Pratunam night market just beside the hotel. There wasn't anything much to buy as all the quality of the items just could not cut it for our high expectations.

Then me and John just went for a massage while the girls went shopping. We tried 1 and a half hours this time and it was more shiok than yesterday. 370 baht fly. We agreed to meet the girls at the massage palour entrance at 10:30pm, but they were nowhere to be seen.

Me and John freaked out. Panic ensues for the next 15 minutes. We went up the overhead bridge to set camp and started scouting every inch of the streets below us. We squinted our eyes trying to spot 2 girls in their dress code side by side. Finally we saw them and my goodness, I was so relieved. The lack of communication really can be deadly in Bangkok!

I could see John really wanting to comment on the situation but what matters is 4 of us are back together safe and sound. The girls bought me and John a keychain each. It was hand-crafted and it is a really nice keychain.

All four of us then went to McDonalds to have supper (99 baht) before heading back to the hotel. The girls helped us buy beer so we just drank and chilled. And day 3 was over!
