Taiwan Graduation Trip - Day 1 of 7

***The following is the account of the first-person-view from Edwin Ang.***

Woke up at 3.30am to prepare to drive to Changi Airport. Picked up Willis at 4.30am and Jun Wei at 4.35am. Reached Changi Airport around 5am plus. Boarded the first flight at 7am and plane took off shortly after.

The plane trip was great. Smooth ascend and descend and good food too.

Reached Hong Kong International Airport at 10 plus for transit. Although one hour, we had to rush to the boarding gate for the 2nd flight to Taoyuan Airport. We had to take a mini train ride at HK Airport cos it was awesome. The 2nd flight took off at noon.

We reached Taoyuan at 3pm, because of give-and-take time. We then rode the brand new purple line to the main city. That took 35 minutes.

We checked in to the house which we booked through Airbnb. The house itself is pretty cool. 3 queen sized bed and 2 toilets, and a couch, which I will be sleeping on, cos it's cool. Can't believe it's S$200+ per person for 6 days.

We went out and checked out the weather and surrounding buildings. The temperature is at 20 degrees Celsius throughout the day, so me wearing a singlet feels pretty good. There is a Carrefour opposite us which opens for 24 hours and have all the necessities we need. The house also includes free wifi and shampoo, although we already bought our own 6-day data plan for ourselves. 250NT for unlimited data for 6 days. Not bad at all.

We then headed to Carrefour to get some solid snacks and the power adapter. And of course mineral water.

Next, night market was the bomb. Fried chicken all day every day.

And bubble tea!!!!

And fried rice for dinner!

And a lot of jokes throughout the night!

In summary, day 1 was enough to start the trip on a happy note! The plane ride was smooth and the first night was well spent. :)
