Taiwan Graduation Trip - Day 2 of 7

***The following is the account of the first-person-view from Edwin Ang.***

Woke up at 8am and washed up. By 9am, we were out of the house for breakfast. As we were hungry and don't really know where to go, we decided to try the mee sua at Ximending market. We stepped out of the house and the weather was cold, at 14 degrees. It apparently rained when we were sleeping so it's super cold today. Still, I can stand it in my singlets.

Hot hot mee sua is the best remedy for cold weather. Then, we bought a milk tea which was way better than yesterday's.

I regretted buying that milk tea because it was super tough to down it in the cold weather. Throat was freezing. We passed by a bell and decided to take some pictures there.

Then, we headed back to the house to chill.

We left for Qingtiangang promptly after noon. We took the train to Shilin station to take the bus up the hill. Apparently this sushi store was selling sushi so cheap it's impossible to resist.

After buying sushi, we missed the bus and had to wait one hour for the next one, so we decided to get lunch first. Went into the famous Shilin Night Market which was still dead (because it's only afternoon). There was only one shop open so we ate there.

We even promised the store owner that we will be back for dinner, a promise we regretted making. We then ran for our lives because we were about to miss the next bus as well, because the owner cooked too long. But we caught it so, good for us. The ride up was good, until the fog rolled in. The fog became so bad driver could only see 10 meters ahead. When we arrived at the starting point of Qingtiangang, it was raining and fogging. We decided to try walking up the first few steps. It got so cold that I had to jacket on for the first time in Taiwan. But it was still too cold we decided to head back down. We were freezing.

We were waiting for the bus to a flower garden and because we had nothing to do, I decided to go minimum in the 8 degrees Celsius weather and take some pictures. The help center lady even saluted me for it because no one dared to even wear singlet to this kind of weather, let alone go shirtless. It was fun.

We walked out of the Yangmingshan bus terminal after taking the bus to the flower garden. Apparently, after walking 1km, the flower garden was a disappointment. So we decided to head back. Unfortunately, we had to sprint 1km in 10 minutes in order not to miss the bus. It was crazy running in freezing weather in slippers. But it was quite yolo.

Some random map for the toilet
We caught the bus back to Shilin and prepared to return to the same stall for dinner.

Dinner was just fried rice, and the owner was quite happy that we kept our promise. The fried rice filled our stomachs 90% so we barely had space for anything else already. We bought another milk tea before leaving the Night Market. What a disappointing trip to one of the world famous night markets.

Along the way back to Shilin station, Samuel, Willis and Jun Wei played some street games. Won nothing (Okay Samuel said he won chewing gums so chewing gums it is) so home we go. Reaching the house, we chilled and played Bridge before watching the movie Train to Busan. And day 2 ends.
