***This post is a recount of the trip after I returned to Singapore from the trip.***

My plane touched down at Fukuoka airport at 9am on a bright sunny morning at 8°C weather, very chill! I headed right out of the airport and walked my way to Hakata, the main train station of Fukuoka. It was at this point I decided not to get the JR pass because I did the calculations and it wasn't worth it for me.
The walk to town was amazing. Oh how I missed the cold weather of temperate climates. Got myself a nice can of Strong Zero at the first 7-eleven I saw. Gave the whole country a free show of my muscles too, since they probably don't see a guy in singlet at freezing temperatures everyday.
Reached Hakata main station at 11am and realised restaurants in Japan are just beginning to open. Wow. They open rather late! I walked around this one building beside the main station and couldn't decide on what I wanted to eat, so I left that building (pictured below).
Decided to check out the shopping mall attached to the train station instead. I think it's called Ekinaka shopping center. Went straight to the basement and finally found myself some hot soba noodles. Ate a big bowl of it (too hungry to take a picture) and left the station.
Continued my walk to my hostel, which is called Unplan Fukuoka. At 12:30pm, I bought myself a cup of coffee from Starbucks since Starbucks is so cheap here in Japan. The views on the way to the hostel is pretty amazing too! Very quiet and peaceful as well!
Reached the hostel early at 1pm, even though check-in is at 4pm. I was too shag from the plane ride to go anywhere else for the 2 hours. Totally no sleep on the plane sia. The hostel lobby was heated, which was real nice.
After charging my phones at the lobby for 3 hours, I finally got to enter my room. Pretty cool capsule room not gonna lie. Love the personal space and the quietness of the place. Took a little nap and then headed right out to explore the streets.
Can I just say that alcohol is really cheap here in Japan??? Like no joke, 7-eleven was and always will be my favourite store in Japan!
The rest of the night was just me checking out Pokemon card shops, guitar shops and walking around randomly. Though worthy to note, the guitar shop I checked out on this Day 1 got me planning for my purchases towards the end of the trip. Really had me thinking non-stop.
Ended the night with a nice bowl of udon at, yet again, a place I couldn't remember. The only thing I remember is walking out of the underground city and seeing that restaurant. Pretty affordable so there's that. Anyway, can always see my YouTube vlog for the exact location of the place!
Promptly returned back to hostel to find one of the most amazing toilets I'ver ever showered in. Like no joke, best shared toilet ever.
I wonder why got 2 height choices for the shower head... Hmm... But anyway, very cold so hurriedly went back to my bed and rested for the night. Very comfortable pace of life in my opinion!
And this concludes a pretty eventful day 1 of my Japan trip!
