Today woke up rather late since it’s a Sunday. Went to write some postcards in the study room and then do some laundry in the backyard. Seeing as the sun was shining bright today, it was the perfect day to cycle around Dunedin.
Headed back to town just in time for dinner before ending my day! Nowhere else was opened except for this Chinese noodle store, so I just ate there for NZD$24! Pretty expensive for Chinese noodles!
The nearest bike rental was quite a walk away. So I stopped by Pak N Save first to get some snacks and water (NZD$10.68). Then needed to settle breakfast so settled it at Subway (NZD$16.10) with their Christmas cookies! Shiok!
Finally I reached the beach, and wow, what a sight it was! Hung around there for a while only because the sandflies are super irritating. Also got to climb some rocks so I'm pretty satisfied! The sad thing about this beach is that the climb back to the carpark was this insane uphill climb. Grrrr...
Rented a bicycle from some guy called Peter. Then cycled around the East side of Dunedin. Went to visit Larnarch Castle first. Crazy ride though, all the uphills, the unpredictable weather, on a stupid lousy bicycle.
The castle was mesmerising! So were the gardens surrounding it! After a good 2 hours walking around, I cycled towards Tunnel Beach. Didn’t expect the uphills to continue but it did, sadly. Got very sunburnt on the way there too. Also met this random goat in the middle of nowhere!
